It was a normal night..we tucked Kayson snug into his crib and started the bedtime routine with Lily. All of a sudden, Kayson came walking down the hallway. What a suprise! So we put him back in his crib and sure enough, he came walking out of his room seconds later. We did it again, this time watching him through the baby monitor.
I laughed and cried at the same time. I laughed watching him fling his little body out of his crib and cried because I knew bedtime would never be the same for baby Kay.
We spent the rest of the night trying to get Kayson calmed down and to sleep. We tried his crib, but he just kept climing out. So we tried putting him on his mattress in Lily's room and that was a no go too.
We ended up laying his mattress on the ground, but then he just started a little jumping party.
So I sat next to him, laying him down each time he got up...over and over again...for about an hour straight. Until he was sound asleep.
I was afraid of what he might do if he woke up in the middle of the night with his newfound freedom so I slept on the ground next to him. Sure enough, at 3AM, I woke up to the bedroom door opening. He was starting to walk down the hall, with a big grin, ready to do who knows what.
We are still battling bedtime. Kayson, you are a ball of energy. So much energy you don't quite know when to rest. We're hoping you will master this soon...preferablly before baby #3 joins the family.
